The ancients said, "the mountain of manqu, where the Yi River flows out", originated from Luanchuan, Luoyang. It is a mother river with a long history and nurturing ELO civilization.

Luanchuan, known as luanzhou in ancient times, is located in the south of Luoyang. Luanchuan is rich in tourism resources, attracting tens of millions of tourists every year. As a residential area and tourist distribution center, the water ecological environment of Luanchuan city is not optimistic. Problems such as insufficient hydrophilicity, incomplete functionality and single level of visual landscape along the Yihe River are prominent, which is difficult to meet the needs of residents for leisure and tourists for vacation. Therefore, it is urgent to improve Luanchuan city image and water ecological environment.

Based on the overall water system planning of "one corridor, three areas, five hearts and eight veins" in Luanchuan, Luoyang water conservancy makes use of ecological water conservancy projects to create a water ecological landscape axis belt of "landscape reflecting each other, city water embracing each other, people and water enjoying each other, culture and water brightening each other", comprehensively improve Luanchuan's tourism experience, enhance urban construction taste, and burst out new attraction and vitality in the ancient city of mountains and rivers.

According to the overall planning of Luanchuan landscape water system, a 9-level landscape hydraulic dam is built in Luanchuan Yihe River and its tributaries, with a total investment of nearly 300 million yuan. The landscape dam section of Yihe River has been basically completed and has entered the water storage trial operation period.


Project features:

The landscape dam section adopts a new dam type of steel face slab hydraulic dam with a length of 120m and a height of 4.5m, and the design scale is rare in the built projects in China.

The landscape dam section abandons the traditional energy dissipation type and adopts beautiful fancy energy dissipation. The utility model has the advantages of practicality, beauty and hydrophilicity.

Multistage landscape dams form multistage water surfaces, which organically integrate waterfalls, water surfaces and wetlands.

Project team:

The fourth design institute is the Department of Luoyang water conservancy, which focuses on Ecological Landscape Water Conservancy Design. The project team is composed of more than 30 people from seven major disciplines such as water conservancy, landscape, hydrology, architecture, electromechanical, metal structure and budget. The project leader is Huo Xiangli, chief engineer of the fourth design institute.

Project Outlook:

With the continuous advancement of the project, the blueprint of revitalizing water resources in Iraq as a whole, creating a "golden card" of tourism destination and building a livable city with mountains and rivers is gradually realized.
